Necessary Engagement

And so what I find most interesting about this TED video is more the mystery of texting and mobile communication, than what is said. Sure, all of these maneuvers for avoiding and using cellular phone are familiar to us, but not all of us share these behaviors.

I myself rarely text, and only typically as a lone response to another text. In fact for a few years my phone was not receiving or sending text messages through some fault of the electronic ether. Even now I rarely use the phone on the go, and refuse to answer in what I view to be socially inappropriate areas.

Are we being left behind if we fail to adhere to these electronic tropes of communication?
