Egrets and Echos.

On my last day in Portland my bike was stolen exactly one year and one month after I bought it one block from where I work and where it was parted and it was stolen and exactly one year after I crashed that bike one year minus a day from when my helmet was stolen and one year from when I replaced that helmet and one year and one day from when I bought that same helmet again because my helmet was stolen and I replaced it and then I crashed my bike exactly one year from when I purchased my helmet because someone stole it from where I work.

There's something to be seen in this, but for me seeing is something best done with the gut.  You're smarter than you think you are, and you've built in safe guards.  And the way you'd refer to this situation if you were anybody else would be with words like friends, family, and love.  But not you, and now you live in a place with a cat, and a slough in the back yard, and today you saw an egret.  I know what an egret is, I'm a member of the Audubon society.  A slough is probably salt water.  Sometimes I say things that are true and sometimes I knew that when I said them, and sometimes they're true by accident.

There will be changes, and there will be echoes.
