Astroboy, We Meet Again --in deep contemplation.



So, what I see here is similar to what I've written about earlier. Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astroboy really had some interesting issues in mind. This episode had to do with robot-equality and programming; Can they go against it? I'm fascinated by the robot world. Astro has parents and a sister who essentially act like people. In fact, the robots seem to be accepted at this point in the series as equals. Humans are really the only corrupt people, robots just tend to get caught up in the madness. Strangely thought, I find striking parallels to the idea of "the noble savage," where robots are viewed to have so much unrestrained power, but that all are essentially good at the core.
